Last day as a full time PD intern!

Monday, 22 September 2014

On Thursday sadly it was my last day as a full time Pretty Disturbia intern.
Thursdays are probably the day I enjoy most, with the photo shoot going on its always a busy day.
But this week we had a leaving lunch for myself and another intern Vanessa that left not long ago, with CHEESEBURGER TOASTIES, omg could be one of the best food inventions.... like Everrrr!
It was a fairly sad day as I wont be spending so much time with all the girls anymore!
But they can't get rid of me that easily as I'm gonna stay on one day a week for as long as I can!
I've had the best summer at PD, not being a lazy bum and learning loads of new things and how running a business actually works and that a lot goes into it!

PD clothes swap

Friday, 19 September 2014

On the September the fourth we had round 5 of the clothes swap, this is a successful event where you bring clothes and get clothes back... FOR FREE can I just add.
You bring as many items as you want from dresses, tops, shoes and accessories and for how many items you bring your allowed to take home with you! I got some right gems that I'll have to show you!
It was a really chilled girlie evening with snacks and drinks.
After we wet for a few drinks round northern quarter and literally ran for the train!!

Street style, lovely people with lovely clothes!

Monday, 15 September 2014

This street styling sesh was probably one me favourites, a) it was a nice day and  b) we met some of the nicest people out and about. Oh and of course stylish!
I think I'm jealous of all the girls style here and if you're a girl you'll probs agree don't they look fab?!
Also just a little shout out to Dan in the first picture who we stopped on his way to work.
He does a really cool fashion blog too, that you should check out! He also took down my blog and took the time to check it out and follow me so I'm ovo gonna repay the favour.
After he tweeted me that day he wants to do something bloggerish together and collaborate somehow so that'd be cool!

Another Street Style sesh for PD

Thursday, 28 August 2014

Well the girls definitely get the award for style when we went on the lookout round Manchester on a fine sunny day not so long ago! Don't know where all the stylish men were hiding but we couldn't find any!
So the gals have done us proud once again and in a way its sad looking at these photos we took because it was so nice and sunny and now.... well standard British weather is back. And street style is not so fun in the rain.
So head over to manchesteralternativestreetstyle to find more fab fashion from Pretty disturbia and maybe a few more stylish men than we found!

My week in photos:

Sunday, 27 July 2014

This week has been a goooood week!
Been really busy on placement, even though I was still melting in the studio it was a productive week, doing shoots, sample sale and sorting stock which in the boiling hot room was a workout in itself!
But it was good to see that I can actually do something organised... I have the worst organisational skills everrrr
After two days sorting though it all, it looked so tidy I was quite proud as silly as it sounds!
We also had a sample sale which we spent the Thursday getting ready for!

1 / After the sample sale some of my close friends met in Manchester for drinks, there was a really cool live act on in spinning fields... when we eventually found it!
2 /  Drinks on a nice summer eve (In my new Pretty Disturbia crop tee)
3 / Pretty cocktails and Thai food
4 / Little bike ride with Mum along the canal, then stopped for lunch
5 / Big Mac (dad) treating me well to new make up wahooo
6 / Mum wanted to know what a selfie was...
7 / Big Mac and Glynny when we went for drinks, looking fancy don't you think?
8 / Finally one of my course Friends visited  Chester and i surprised her with a birthday cake!

1st Time Hunt for Pretty Disturbia Street Style!

Wednesday, 23 July 2014

Back in my first week as an intern I was asked to do street styling! At first I was like yeah course I'd love to!
But then the thought of approaching complete strangers saying "Hello I love your style can I take your photo" seemed quite daunting!
With one of my lovely fellow interns Andrea at my side we went on a hunt to find all things alternative and ofcouse people with bags of style.
At first we got a few rejections, don't think it helped I couldn't get my words out at first... Then we thought what the hell we'll never see these people again! Who cares if they think we're a tad weird?
And with that mindset we began to find alot of people who were up for it and for a quick chat about their own style!
I even got a man offering to be my boyfriend... I politely declined but if he really is the next big R&B artist like he said I've deffo missed out haven't I?!
I think Manchester's a great place to track down style, so many people are so confident in what they wear and I love it and bet you agree!
So it was a great way to gain confidence and appreciate people with great clothes!
Heres a few of my faves and you can check out a whole lot more street style on: manchesteralternativestreetstyle

Steam Punk, behind the scenes...

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

Yesterday was the day of our "Steam Punk" collection shoot here at Pretty Disturbia!

It was so exciting to be part of this, I helped with the styling or the shoot which was fun and it was such lovely weather to do it outside in Castlefeilds Manchester.
The collection was modelled by Daniella and Jen Mortan did an incredible job with the make up and I completely envy her make up collection... mine looks so pathetic next to that! It was a chance for us all to work as a team and was a really nice afternoon working with a lovely bunch of girls.
Steam punk fashion has no guidelines, but tends to mix modern styles with influences from the Victorian era. This may include gowns, corsets, petticoats, suits, top hats, large skirts and has a romantic feel.
The collection features oversized collars, ruffle details and has shades of greys and
purples with accessories featuring clockwork and other Victorian items.

So here are a few cheeky behind the scenes shots, Hope you like them and check out the collection when its online!!

First week as a PD Dollie!

Saturday, 5 July 2014

prettydisturbia

On Tuesday just gone I started my internship at Pretty Disturbia Manchester. Its a brand that prides itself on being alternative and had a love of vintage, I was excited but really nervous to start I didn't really know what I was getting into but after the first few days I'm really loving it already!
Everyone there has been so welcoming and it's been so hands on already, and they've made me feel part of the team right from the second I got there!
I just don't enjoy getting up at 6.30am, its like seeing a whole different time of day compared to having Uni life, and I'm sure I'll get used to skipping my regular afternoon nap...
Even though I'm 20 and should probably grow out of that by now!
Can't wait to see what's in store for me in the next few months as a PD Dollie!
